Vigilant Manufacturing Services is LED Manufacturer spin-off from Vigilant Technology, a semiconductor packaging company located in Bangkok, Thailand. VIGILANT was established in April 2011 in recognition of the support traditional lighting companies need as the market rapidly evolves towards solid state lighting applications.

Member of the Vigilant LED Manufacturer Group with 300 employees and two factory locations, Vigilant has all the resources needed to provide a one-stop LED manufacturing service. Vigilant combines its expertise in lighting and strength in electronic manufacturing with capabilities in aluminum and plastic parts production to support the specific needs of LED lighting companies.

OEM & ODM
As a professional manufacturer with in-house capabilities covering driver and LED PCB manufacturing, metal working and plastics, Vigilant has an expert team covering R&D, design and production for the whole OEM process.

Ideally Vigilant operates in close partnership with the customer, no less than if we were an in-house design and manufacturing facility. In addition, we believe this partnership extends to all aspects of the OEM & ODM process, covering product development, getting-to-market, order fulfillment and after-sales service. Vigilant LED Manufacturer offers electronic and mechanical design of LED Lighting products and systems. While focusing on functional and aesthetic requirements, manufacturability is always incorporated into the design.

Sourcing and Purchasing

Finding reliable suppliers of parts and end-products can be a daunting task in the endless lists of trading companies and suppliers in China and other Asian countries. Vigilant works with a list of qualified suppliers for global procurement and through its network is in a position to help source for ready-made products, parts and components as per specification.

In so doing, Vigilant seeks to leverage its Asian geographic location, economies of scale and extensive industry network to provide customers with quality control, lowest cost and ease of communication for all purchasing requirements.

The advantage of being located in a free-trade zone is that Vigilant can import and export all materials and products tax-free, facilitating the logistics process.

Electronic Manufacturing

Vigilant LED Manufacturer uses the latest technologies to provide innovative SMT and other electronic manufacturing solutions. With a diverse customer base covering semiconductor development boards, modules, LED drivers and LED PCB’s, Vigilant has developed an adaptive and effective manufacturing process with rapid change-over times in the production lines. Hence, Vigilant is often referred to as a flexible contract manufacturer. This reputation is further enhanced by low MOQ’s as the entire spectrum of volumes can be accommodated, from one-off prototyping to mass production.

Special alloys such as Invar 36 and Elmax can be acquired from our overseas suppliers.

Aluminium
Most common grades such as 5083, 6061, 7022, 7075 are locally available.

Engineering Plastics
Most used PE, PEEK, POM, Delrin can be supplied.

Carbide
Normally Ceratizit hardmetals (www.ceratizit.com) are used but AF1, A1, F10, EM10 etc. can be supplied as well.

Hardening
For heat treatment process our main material suppliers have state of the art facilities available for vacuum hardening, tempering etc.

Treatment and Coatings
The following treatments are available:
DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating on Carbide, PVD Ion Plating Service for thin film coating on metal and ceramic using Titanium. Anodizing, electroless Nickel, Nickel, Chrome (hard, flash, black) plating on
Aluminium and Steel.

Certificate of Conformance
On request, a Certificate of Conformance or Hardness Measurement report will be supplied.

Assembly & test
Final assembly and test services are offered as part of a turn-key solution, or alternatively as a separate service. Thailand’s skilled labor and low cost environment offer significant advantages in building lighting fixtures.

Vigilant’s relentless focus on process and quality control stems from its IC assembly and test roots. This ensures that yield losses are at a minimum and guarantees that every luminaire leaving the factory is assembled and tested according to customer specification.

Test systems are developed according to customer requirements and cover functional test, life-test and burn-in activities.

The complex supply chain is managed by Vigilant’s purchasing group and, in each case, is tailored to the customer’s specific service level requirements. The purpose of this model is to create a suitable and flexible supply chain while minimizing costs and risks.

With its location in an export processing zone close to the international airport VIGILANT assembly and test services are efficient, cost effective and accessible to all clients (small and big) around the world.

LED’s
Developments of LED packages are superseding each other at a very fast pace. Consequently there is a constant improvement of LED’s with regards to lumen, efficacy and price. In order to keep up with these rapid product developments, our team is continuously reviewing opportunities to upgrade LED’s to improve the performance of the module/luminaire and to reduce the overall price (taking into account the effect these changes might have on the optics, the driver and the overall construction). These opportunities are presented in regular customer meetings, and together we decide on implementation of the proposed product changes.

Due to VMS’s electronic and mechanical design capabilities, these changes are implemented with relative ease and speed. This gives our customers the possibility of always riding the crest of the wave in terms of LED developments.

Due to the variety of products being produced, VMS has experience with the following LED’s:
